Junior Achievement of Chicago is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to bringing the free enterprise system to life in the classroom and reinforcing the importance of staying in school. Since its charter in 1940, Junior Achievement of Chicago has promoted economic education to students in the Chicagoland area.

The entire Junior Achievement of Chicago franchise includes ten counties in Northern Illinois and two in Northwestern Indiana. The national organization, founded in 1919 is headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Junior Achievement of Chicago partners volunteers from the community with classrooms spanning kindergarten through high school. Utilizing age-appropriate curricula; classroom volunteers teach elementary students about their roles as individuals, workers and consumers and prepare middle grade and high school students for key economic and workforce issues.

If you enjoy working with kids; then you are the volunteer teachers we are looking for to join current other UCChicago alumni, family & friends for 3.5 hours at the University's Charter school North Kenwood/Okland Campus to teach the JA curriculum listed below. JA makes it easy and fun by providing grade specific kits that walk you through each program.

If you don't have a comfort level teaching alone; feel free to co-teach with a friend!
