Marianna Tax Choldin, AB'62, AM’67, PhD’79, LAB'59, who served on the faculty of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for over 30 years, will share the knowledge acquired in her forty year study of censorship in Russia, the Soviet Union, and the post-Soviet Russia with us. She has traveled all over the world to work with librarians, promoting improved library services, new technologies, and especially freedom of information. Choldin is also a 2011 Public Service Award winner presented at the University of Chicago's annual alumni awards ceremony.
